TikTok has over 2 billion downloads globally. The number shows that TikTok is doing something right. The lighthearted music app was founded in 2017 by its Chinese company, Bytedance, and became the most downloaded app in 2018.

Tiktok allows users to post comedy, goofy, and lifehacks in the form of short videos. These videos are watched by 12 billion users approximately. The app tends to have an audience relatively known as GenZ or trendsetter. So, what makes this app so powerful?

Firstly, the social media audience has an undying quench for easy-to-access content and youth connection. Secondly, the non-complicated interface enables users to create content and stream without any fuss.

Moreover, TikTok has a plethora of categories ranging from music to food, DIYs to lifestyle, and food to fitness. In addition, TikTok has partnered up with several influencers and celebrities and has managed to convince them to create their content.

However, TikTok has faced its fair share of criticism and disapproval specifically related to security issues. But this didn’t stop TikTok from taking the market by storm. The dual business model by Zhang Yiming has been a game-changer for the digital economy.
